Fluoridation of water: Ominous sign in public health

Fluoridation of water that began in the USA back in the 1940s is continuing even today. Previously, it was thought that fluoride helped in maintaining healthy teeth. But soon it was proved to be a hoax. However, in spite of stiff resistance from the public, authorities are persistent in their aim to fluoridate the public water supply system. This is giving rise to mounting public indignation and opposition towards the anti-people government policy.

The U.S. government started the fluoridation of public water supply systems back in 1945. A year prior to this, The Journal of the American Dental Association evinced that consuming fluoride at excessive levels can cause tooth decay and even falling out of teeth in most of the adults. Yet, the fluoridation started in 1945 and until today, millions of Americans have been fed fluoridated water. At present, 75 percent of U.S. water supply is contaminated with this toxin. There are some common hoaxes that are associated with fluoride. The most common of them was that fluoride helped in developing good and strong teeth. The truth is that fluoride “helps” in tooth decay like no other chemical! It has a unique capacity to penetrate through tissues. In this way, it also plays a vital role in tissue damage and bone erosion. Fluoride is one of the basic elements that are used in military nerve gas and are commonly found in rat poisons. So the “benefits” of such an element can easily be understood.

Many countries including India, France, Germany and Great Britain have already profited from the use of fluoride in public water supply systems. Moreover, a public resistance of nearly 30,000 people in Portland has forced the authorities to reconsider their decision of fluoridating the local water supply against public interest. Now, what is left to be seen is what the authorities do in order to cope with the increasing public dissatisfaction with respect to fluoridation of water?
