Over 42,000,000 Americans STRESS OUT every hour of every day – then smoke a cigarette

Stress is defined as your body's way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol , which rouse the body for "necessary" action. But is it really necessary? How necessary is most of our stress? Is it called for, or uncalled for? Does it solve problems better–the worry, the doubting, the sulking, the wallowing, the angst?   Anxiety is an emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil, often accompanied by nervous behavior, often accompanied by feelings of dread over anticipated events, including the fear of imminent death. This can be in regards to a real threat, a perceived threat, or just the expectation of a future threat. Ultimately, anxiety is a FEELING of fear and uneasiness that can be very generalized and overreactive. Having panic attacks does not necessarily mean one has a disorder, though, as most ...

How many MORE miles of cigarettes will you smoke? - The length of your habit - unraveled!

Get this: A cigarette's average length is about 3.5 inches, and there are about 20 cigarettes in a pack, so if you smoke a pack a day, every day for 10 years, you will have smoked 255,500 inches of cigarette (minus the filter), which totals over 21,000 feet, divide that by the number of feet in one mile (5,280) and put all those cigarettes end-to-end in the street and the grand total would equal 4 miles of cigarettes that you smoked. Take all those same numbers but use a factor of 2 packs of cigarettes per day smoked for 20 years, and that totals over 1 million inches of cigarettes , which is over 25,000 total feet, and lay all those down in the road end-to-end and you've smoked 16 miles of cigarettes . Let's take it up a notch. Take all those same figures still and now change the two pack-a-day smoker to 30 years in the making and you've got 1,533,000 inches of smokes, totaling 127,750 feet, laid out in the road is 24 miles long . And for the grand finale...

Step one : Take your cigarettes, diet soda, junk food and any drugs and flush them down the toilet. We're going down to the basement of basics so this new lifestyle for you is NOT complicated, but simple, straightforward and FUN.   Step two : Decide on some form of exercise that you actually like – that's easy, simple, not a strain on muscles or back or feet or knees, etc. You only need to do this exercise for 10 - 15 minutes a day. Don't make this complicated. Walking briskly, jogging, lifting very light weights, jumping rope, riding your bike, swimming (indoor or outdoor), climbing steps, pacing throughout your home, yoga, anything, ... the choices are unlimited.   Step three : Go to Natural News Blog and read a short article on how to detoxify your lymphatic system ( or click here ). Here's the intro. This is what you need to know: "The lymphatic system, or lymph system as it is also called, is a system made up of glands, lymph nodes, th...

Seventy percent of American smokers want to quit - finally a method that works!

Outside the office buildings they huddle in the cold. Away from the dinner parties they're "isolated" and some of them ashamed of themselves for still being engulfed by the habit. Like outcasts, the pariahs gather and inhale -- hold -- exhale 7,000 chemicals through a long white tube of paper full of tobacco and loaded with a short-term stimulant -- the second most addictive kind on the planet. "Gluttons for punishment" -- the non-smokers may call them. They know what they're doing to their bodies. So where's the sympathy for the plight, the blight, the horror of not being able to quit something you want to very badly? Where are the non-smokers who empathize? Where are the nutritionists now, to scream at them, that nutrition is the key to longevity, or at this point, has everyone just given up? Research blames income levels for a high correlation of smokers of commercial cigarettes, meaning possibly that the poor are more stressed out, ...
